My Career Experience.

I am an experienced creative having worked as an Art Director for Advertising Agencies and Direct Marketing Agencies such as Rees Bradley Hepburn, TDA and Golley Slater. I have worked on accounts such as Jaguar, Land Rover, Renault, British Gas, National Trust, Nationwide and many more accounts. Also I have worked as a Graphic Designer for in-house design departments such as PDSA the veterinary charity and Wrapfilm the manufactuer of Bacofoil products.

I understand the importance of branding and brand values. I am happy to work in print or digital media. I like my work to have an idea behind it, to communicate and persuade quickly, and to have an elegance to the design.

My Key Skills & Achievements.

  • Software. Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, QuarkXPress, Sublime Text, Word, Mac OS and Windows OS.
  • Coding. HTML 5 and CSS 3, including responsive web design layouts.
  • Ideas. Concepts including headline writing.
  • Design. Layouts, typography and branding.
  • Creative team. Working with a Copywriter.
  • Visuals. Mac or Marker pen visuals and b/w scamps.
  • Photography. Art directing photo shoots.
  • Artwork. Producing prepress artwork and retouching photography for artwork.
  • Buying. Print buying, art buying and briefing printers.
  • Other skills. Good attention to detail, good team player, good presenter, good listener, good sense of humour, and cool under pressure.
  • Driving. Clean full driving license and my own car.
  • Awards. 2 Roses Nominations,
    1 DMA Bronze (Direct Marketing Association),
    2 DMA Gold (Direct Marketing Association).

My Interests.

  • Mountain walking. I can’t go past a mountain without wanting to walk to the summit.
  • Motor sports. I am a Ferrari fan. (Yes I know! the Manchester United of Formula One.)
  • Cars. I love the space age curves of the first Citroen DS, styled by the sculptor Bertoni in the 1950s.
  • Photography. I’m currently playing with 120 degree panoramic views stitched with photoshop,.
  • Art. I enjoy a good exhibition, something big and painterly like a Rothko.
